Wedding card for the sweetest bride......

W003

This is a special card I made for my cute sis, Aleen.....for her wedding day... :) Her wedding day is on the 29th of November 2008. So I wanted to give her a special card on her special day.

I used a scented patterned paper to make the base of the card.....I simply decorated the card with laces and ribbons....sweet colors for a sweet girl. Well, that is how I see her....and that is how I try to convey in this card.

The front part of the card was also decorated with tiny heart shaped punched out paper....the heart shape paper is the same paper as the paper for the base of the card and by pasting them on the card, it somehow creates an illusion that the card is embossed with heart shapes. Pasting the heart shapes on the card one by one was not easy....it took sometime to get it done.....but the results was worth the trouble. The card has a matching peach colored handmade envelope and is decorated on the inside with a simple printed message for the bride.

Congratulations Dear...

The tiniest paper cupcake I ever made ;)

I got an order to make a pop up card recently.....pretty excited about that :) My customer wanted the same design as the pop up card that I made a while back, but instead of writing wordings like "Happy Birthday Honey", she wanted it to be "Congratulations Dear". Well that was not a problem hehehe......so I made it just the way she requested.

The pop up lip and cupcakes inside the card is the same like the original design I made as you can see at the link HERE. However, the wordings inside had to be changed to suit the needs of my customer. One thing that I would like to mention here is that this is the first time I had to make the tiniest paper cupcake ever! hehehe......actually, my customer wanted a small photo of a cupcake beside her signature, but I decided to make one by hand instead. So tiny and cute! :)

I came up with another idea! I used the same technique....the same white embossed paper and same ribbon wrap idea except, instead of using white ribbons, I used a variety of soft sweet colored ribbons. I used purple, blue, green and peach, pink....so sweet! :) To match it up even more, I used matching colored handmade envelopes. Don't they just look so cute? hehehe......

Thank You Teacher

TD005

This is a new design I made last night....plus the whole day of yesterday hehehe.....I was brainstorming for new ideas on how to design a thank you card that is meant to be given to a lady teacher. A sweet customer of mine wanted a thank you card design that has soft colours and somehow combine it with an apple (a motif that is always used for teacher's greeting cards). My head just went spinning like crazy thinking of a few designs that would be suitable. I was running out of time.....and I knew I couldn't do anything that was too complicated otherwise it would take too long to complete it.....however I did came up with 2 designs for her to choose from. She finally chose this one and also these wordings that I found in the net for her. I love poems by Joanna Fuchs....they are beautiful.

I've always wanted to do something different everytime I design a new card. And this time around I tried stamping with the big letter stamps that I have. I've seen before in many other handmade designs by other artist whereby they used this similar technique, so I wanted to give it a try. I had to make a small rectangular template so that I could draw it out on paper and cut them up so that I could stamp the letters on them. It's quite fun to do actually hehehe...I really enjoyed stamping the letters "T", "E", "A", "C", "H", "E", "R", then layering them with different colour papers and later arranging them to form a word. The apple was another thing that I loved making....and I even made a miniature one for the envelope. And all that was hand drawn....as I don't have any ready made template available.....from the apple to the leaf to the stalk of the apple, all hand drawn and cut out using the old scissor hehehe..... I would probably make more card designs using this similar technique of stamping on small rectangular shape paper...because it's actually fun to do! :)
